He was born in 1728 in England. Discovery of Australia is one of his greatest achievements.
Discovery of NewZealand
Captain Cook started his navigation with the ship Endeavour, accompanied by two botanist Joseph Bank and Daniel Carl Salander and with a large number of crews. In 1767 Captain Cook discovered Tahiti and New Zealand.
Discovery of East Coast of New Holland ( Australia)
On 17 April in1770 , Endeavour first sighted the east coast of New Holland . At that time Australia was known to them as New Holland. Captain Cook found a convenient place to anchor on 28 April ,1770 , the place later known as Botany Bay by Joseph Bank. But first Captain Cook named this place as " Stingray harbour".
