cold summer in Sydney , NSW - december 2011

More than one week of summer is gone , but there is no sign of summer any where in sydney , rather it is cold like winter .This is very unusual attitudes of weather, may be , it is an impact of climate change . It has been raining every day , temperature was between 10 to 15 degree Celsius . Such low temperature in summer is a very bizarre aspect of weather in last 15 years around sydney .

rivers and bangladesh

Bangladesh is a land of rivers. More than two hundred rivers have been flowing across the country; The Padma , the Meghna and the Jamuna  are the largest rivers of Bangladesh. . Life  without rivers is beyond imgination .

All the rivers of Bangladesh is heart and soul of the land. Agriculture , economy and life-style of the people depends on the existence of rivers to a large extent  but the plight of these rivers is very poor and devastating ; there are many reasons behind this situation . Most of the rivers are getting dry , losing their own stream-lines . Dishonest land grabbers are illegally occupying the rivers ; neighbouring country India  has been making dams across the big rivers , ignoring international laws ; which has already made dangerous environmental impacts on the rivers and lands of Bangladesh .

carbon pollution and australia

Carbon pollution is going to be a devastating threat and risk to our planet earth ; global warming is one of direct consequences of excessive carbon pollution . In terms of carbon pollution , Australia is widely responsible for producing more carbon pollution in the world because every person in Australia is producing more carbon pollution than any one else in any where of our universe .There are many reasons behind Australia's carbon pollution , one of the main causes is production of electricity by burning coals. Mostly power is produced in Australia by burning coals , which produces carbon in a monster way and other causes are contributing to some extent ; these are mining industry , transport industry and deforestations . In order to reduce the carbon pollution, Australian government is strongly determined to introduce Carbon Tax but Opposition parties are dead against of Carbon Tax.

human rights in Bangladesh

The plight of human rights in Bangladesh is very poor , though the country has been  governed by democratic governments since 1990 but unfortunately there is no significant developments for defending human rights.

There are many reasons behind this, wide-spread corruptions in different sectors of government , nepotism , gang terrorism , constant hostilities between government and opposition parties and above all lack of culture of democratic values .All of these elements has been contributing to a large scale for violating human rights at all walks of the socities .

Climate change : we must do something right now .

If we love our children , if we love our planet Earth , if we want to stop the extinction of human civilization , then we must do some thing down to earth to stop climate change from right now.
Finally Australian Federal Government's Climate Commission has disclosed the report .The report says that Global warming is real and we are responsible for this.
Chief Commissioner Prof. Tim Flannery  told ABC Radio -
" The planet is warming , that is incontrovertible ."
" All the data points that way, that humans are causing it. Again that is incontrovertible ."
" We are in the middle of an unintentional experiment at the moment , which is changing the way the world works ---- we have to limit the damage ."
Author Prof. Will Steffen said --
" There is no doubt that the climate is changing. The evidence is overwhelming and clear."

That is why , it was such a monster weekend. The beginning of long week end is very amazing but the end is different ; but the weather  was not nice at all . Millions of people celebrated ANZAC day in heavy shower since the very beginning of dawn service all over the Australia.Apart from Australia , ANZAC day has been celebrated in Turkey , France, Greece, Korea and Thai- Myanmar border.I spent most of the time with my little baby and was doing other household works  , though I visited couple of my friends but I missed the Easter Show, which is one of the biggest attractions of Easter holidays in NSW.

Poverty around the world .

Sketch by ZAINUL in 1947
The number of poor people in the world is going up every day, now it is obvious poverty breeds poverty every where in the world. How much is the rich world is doing to eradicate poverty is not sufficient , uptodate and sustainable.Poverty is a curse in Asia , Africa and Latin America .In most of the circumstances , poverty is man made or  in some cases it is made by the Nature specially by Natural disasters.

The continuous rise of inflation in Bangladesh is increasing  endless inflictions in the lives of millions of people.Just couple of days ago Bangladesh has celebrated her 40 th Independence Day on 26 March but still the millions of people are badly devastated by severe poverty ; financial emancipation is far away .At present , inflation is the most serious curse in lives of people of Bangladesh .Inflation is going up every day  in a dangerous and alarming rate. The picture of inflation is gruesome ; corruptions in government is the primary cause of this sort of reinless inflation in the economy of Bangladesh .

Indian BFS killed 671 Bangladeshi civilians since 2001

Bangladesh is mostly surrounded by India but the neighbourhood relationship  between India and Bangladesh is not good since the Independence of Bangladesh. Though India had helped and cooperated Bangladesh during the liberation war in 1971 to a large extend . But the situation in India - Bangladesh border has always been in tense with very trivial issues for ages . With the help of Border Security forces of India and Bangladesh , the smugglers are increasing their business day by day in both countries .All the smugglers are crossing the borders every day without any interruptions but whenever poor , innocent people try to cross the border for various reasons , then unfortunately,  they have to lose lives. This is absolute reality in India -Bangladesh borders. Indian Border Security Forces ( BSF) has killed 671 Bangladeshi civilians , while crossing borders or inside of Bangladesh , most of them are very poor and innocent people , living across the borders. This is absolutely brutality and this sort of  barbarian activities must be stopped soon .

Palm Beach is one of the most beautiful  and largest ( almost 2 .5 km ) beaches in New South Wales ( NSW ) Australia . Palm Beach is the most northern of Sydney's Northern Beaches and the most northerly suburb of the city's metropolitan area and almost one hour drive from Sydney CBD .

The entire area of Palm beach is enriched with  stunning evergreen bushland and beaches of golden sand,  the exquisite pristine blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the calm sailing paradise of Pittwater.

Felani's death : extreme brutality of Indian BSF

Felani is a poor and innocent  Bangladeshi girl of 15 years. She did not have a beautiful  and happy life like other teenagers . she was a hard worker and seeking fortunes , going beyond the border of her country Bangladesh; she and her parents did not know one day it would be a curse for her. Her poor father was working in India in brick fields . She was also with her father in India .  Probably her father was trying to fix up her marriage , that is why he was taking her to home country Bangladesh . this unfortunate poor family could not provide enough money to cross the border legally , consequently , they were trying to cross by India - bangladesh border illegally by climbing up wired fence . It was 7th January 2011, early in the morning . She and her beloved family members could not even imagine for a single second , it was the Dooms day for Felani..Her father crossed the border by climbing  up the wired fence , and she was following her father's step, when she was trying to cross the fence , her clothes got tangled with the wired fence and and she started screaming for help , at the same time Indian Border Security Forces started shooting and she was killed mercilessly and brutally straightaway over the wired fence and her dead body was danglying over the fence for long  time.

Felani was not a smuggler or nor a threat to border security forces of India .She did not deserve such sort of punishment merely for border crossing / tress passing. Every day hundreds of people are illegally crossing the India Bangladesh border with smuggled goods .Neither BSF nor BDR shoot them or kill them.Because Border Security Forces of India and bangladesh , both of them take bungs from the smugglers . that is why , they kill innocent people to show their performances.Every year hundreds of innocent Bangladeshi people are being killed by Indian Border Security Forces .This sort of activities are gross violations of human rights and absolute bestial brutalities .

Mohiuddin Ahmed ( Bacchu Mia ) and Aganagar Union Council , Bhairab .

Mohiuddin Ahmed (1920-1985)

Aganagar is one of the Union Councils (Union Parishad) of Bhairab Thana of Kishoreganj district. Most of the villages of this union council are in low-lying areas and during the Rainy season, all of these villages look like tiny islands. The lives around these areas are pretty hard and frequently their lives are affected by different sort of Natural disasters.

Mohiuddin Ahmed ( locally known as Bacchu Mia) was one of the persons, who had spent the most of the time of his life to develop the fates of thousands of  poor,  and uneducated people around his village Aganagar .

He was born in Aganagar in 1920s .He completed his Bachelor of Arts( BA) from Govt.Comilla Victoria college in early 1950s.  He was the first individual who had completed Bachelor Degree at that time in Aganagar and adjacent areas. Even his father Monir Uddin Ahmed had his SSC ( at this time known as Entrance ) in early 1920s ,though Mohiuddin Ahmed lost his father in his childhood but he was strongly motivated by patriotism .

He could have joined in Civil Service , rather joining in any lucrative jobs, he engaged himself in teaching .He started his career  as a lecturer in a college ; later joined in a school as  Headmaster. After working couple of years in schools and colleges, then he got back to his own village Aganagar . He had been elected Chairman of Aganagar Union Council for couple of times until 1971.

During the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, he tremendously helped the Freedom fighters by taking the risk of his own life. A  large contingent of freedom fighters used to stay and continue their operations and activities from  his home- compound, even they used  his home  as a reservoir of their arms and ammunitions during the liberation war of 1971 . During the tenure of his chairmanship he tired to develop the communication infrastructure by building up many bridges. He tried couple of times to established a High School in Aganagar but some anti- social , criminal groups vandalised his great projects every time.

He dedicated his whole life for the development of his own society and people . He was  a great patriot and never liked to be exposed. After struggle with cancer for few years ,this great patriot paid the debt of the Nature on 10 th August 1985. May ALLAH ( SWT) rest his soul in the Heaven forever .
